Tuscan Sunrise by Bob Rosenbladt

We were in Tuscany last June and the days were in the 90's and really hazy. On this particular morning we were in Pienza and I wasn't optimistic about the conditions, but we got out of the hotel before 4:00 am to beat the sunrise. The morning was glorious. There was beautiful color in the sky and fog hanging in all the valleys. The row of cypress trees leading up to the villa are classic Tuscany. I was really glad that we got up and moving so early.

Venice by Yuwei Li

This is a single shot. No ND filters. 117”, f/13. It was before sunrise and the actual scene was almost pitch black. The long exposure made the shadowy buildings appear bright. The light trails were created by the passing water taxies. I waiting for the boat to come into the frame, opened the shutter, and closed the shutter when it disappeared into the horizon. The boat itself also disappeared because of the long exposure. The water surface does not look silky for a 2-minute exposure due to the fact that the water was really dark and when it appears in the image it is because of the short duration in which the boat lights illuminated that part of the water. I used a small aperture to create the starbursts of street lights.
