Wolfman in the Woods by Dorothy Rosenbladt

This image of Bryan Peterson was taken during one of his bear photography workshops on Kodiak Island. It was a rainy day in September of 2021 and the bears were hunkered in somewhere, so Bryan started doing some squat jumps and challenged us to do our best vertical panning. He said this shot was the best.

On any beach there is always something interesting to find, so it was at Fay Bainbridge Park. I was captivated by the kelp looking like a large hand grabbing a rock that looks like a huge egg.

Red Wing Black Bird (RWBB) by Glen Wyat

This photo of a red-wing blackbird (RWBB) was taken last April at the wetlands along Point White Drive west of Schell Chelb Estuary. The bird was picking seeds out of cattail heads shortly after 8 am, so the lighting was oblique from the south.

Nikon Z8, Z800 mm f/6.3 lens, 1/2000 sec, f/10, ISO 2200, handheld from about 100 feet from the subject, and it's about a 50% crop.
